What better way to kick off a fall Saturday than with the whole family moving together? This October, Festival at Bel Air is hosting its inaugural road-and-trail 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run, giving runners of all ages a chance to get outside, have fun and make a difference in the community. Make your miles matter as each step you take will benefit Harford Family House, a nonprofit working to end homelessness in Harford County.

A Race Made for the Whole Family

While the 5K offers a challenge for more experienced runners, the Kids 1K Fun Run is the perfect way to introduce little ones to the excitement of race day. The untimed 1K starts at 8 a.m., so kids can focus on what matters most: having fun, getting active and crossing that finish line celebrated with a confetti cannon!

Whether your child is a budding runner, a weekend stroller passenger ready to get moving on their own, or simply excited to participate in a big community event, the 1K offers a low-pressure way for kids to be part of the action.

And because it isn't timed, there’s no need to worry about pace or personal records. This one is all about the experience.

More Than a Race—It’s a Community Celebration

The morning begins with opening announcements and a warm-up before the 5K takes off at 7:50 a.m., followed by the 1K at 8 a.m. After the races, participants can stick around for the post-race festival including a live DJ, games, local vendors, and plenty of merchant specials to take advantage of over the weekend at the shopping center.
